WESTMINSTER PRESBYTERIAN CHURCH
PADUCAH, KY
JUNE 18, 2008
Presbyterian Women in Westminster gathered June 18, 2008 for the final meeting
of the year as 21 members enjoyed an indoor picnic planned by the Coordinating
Team. Those attending found a place at tables decorated with baskets of summer
flowers and slices of watermelon and strawberries at each place. In addition
each found at her place a tea bag attached to the quote from Eleanor
Roosevelt-“A woman is like a tea bag—you never know how strong she is until she
gets in hot water!” A nice beginning to a lovely evening.
Diane Gray gave an opening prayer thanking all for this gathering and remembering the many who are ill and need special care. She closed asking blessing on the meal.
Following the picnic supper of fried chicken, potato salad, baked beans, rolls and ice cream bars Moderator Rose Morgan conducted a short business meeting.
Betty Smith, treasurer gave the following report:
Birthday Offering $187.00
Quarterly payment $100.00
Balance June 2008 $1146.73
$225.00 was the amount turned in for the Clean Water Project at the spring gathering.
Peg Brown reported no old business.
Guidelines for the parlor will be reviewed and updated.
A policy will be set to have in place one coordinator for each PW event held. All questions and decisions will be cleared through this person.
Following the business period the moderator asked if those attending believed in angels and quoted Hebrew 13:2. This background was given to introduce two Presbyterian Women angels—our kitchen angels. Wanda Throgmorton and Mary Abel. They were honored with appreciation and a small gift.
