PW News
The following is a “Together
in Service” report that Peg B. was asked to send to the PW
(Presbytery). This report was included in a report at the Spring
Gathering.
I think you will be
pleasantly surprised by how actively involved the Westminster
Presbyterian Women are in the mission work of the Church.
- 19 sheets sent to be
used in Third World Countries
- 3 quilts for Bellewood
for boys
- Needle work: 3 prayer
shawls, 14 Seamens’s scarves (for Waterways Mission) – 11 burial
pocket/bonnet/bootie sets
- Monetary support for
LIVING WATERS FOR THE WORLD
- Monetary support for
HABITAT FOR HUMANITY (Paducah)
- Food, monetary and
volunteer support for PCM
- Participation in the
SALVATION ARMY Christmas stocking project
- Continued support with
fund raising and our encouragement for the building of an
inclusive/accessible playground for disabled in our local park
- Monetary support to
FAMILY SERVICES OF PADUCAH
- Participated in annual
dinner for Westminster’s guests: RIVER CITY MISSION and residents
of RIVERWOOD HOME
- Fruit baskets at
Christmas to our folks who are “shut in”.
- Christmas caroling and
Christmas flowers to our folks who are “shut in”
- Our youth made Easter
cards for the project “EASTER ON THE RIVERS” (A Riverway project)
- Birthday Offering –
Least Coin Offering – PW Thank Offering
- And, our mission of
love as we all serve meals for our families who have lost loved
ones.
Peg wrote: “I was touched with
the statement in our PW literature on Together in Service
stating: Nobody can do everything, but everyone can do something.”
Peg also wrote: “Perhaps
some of these items listed do not fit neatly under the term of mission
but they are all acts from the hearts from many caring women here at
Westminster.”
